Faculty Councilors

The vital relationship between our member schools and the ÌÇÐÄvlog depends in large part on the ÌÇÐÄvlog Faculty Councilor at each school. This person provides an essential role regionally as a representative at ÌÇÐÄvlog business meetings; in the nomination of colleagues for service in ÌÇÐÄvlog or collateral organizations; as a liaison between the national office and their school; and as administrator of their school’s vote on official ÌÇÐÄvlog business. Faculty councilors are the primary contact for the distribution of ÌÇÐÄvlog materials, publications, and communications. In short, the service of a school’s councilor is critical to the success of ÌÇÐÄvlog and its programs. If you need to update your Faculty Councilor, please contact Danielle Dent at ddent@acsa-arch.org.

Who Are Faculty Councilors?

Each ÌÇÐÄvlog full-member school elects a Faculty Councilor to represent their school. Faculty councilors are faculty members who are elected by their faculties for a three-year term, and may be reelected for one additional three-year term. Duties of the faculty councilor include determining the vote of the member school on official Association business; serving as liaison between their school and both the national office and their regional director; participating in the regional council and soliciting student opinion from his/her school. Faculty councilors or a designee are expected to attend the ÌÇÐÄvlog Annual Business Meeting (held at the Annual Meeting) and the Business Lunch (held at the Administrators Conference or via conference call).

Vote

Formal ÌÇÐÄvlog business, such as annual elections, happens through online voting or at the Annual Business Meeting. Only Faculty Councilors at full member schools are eligible to vote on behalf of their schools. However, schools may arrange for a proxy to participate in the Annual Business Meeting.
