As 2025 comes to an end, I would like to express my gratitude for ÌÇÐÄvlog’s community of volunteers, educators, scholars, practitioners, and advocates. Together, we’ve navigated many challenges facing higher education in 2025, including enrollment-driven concerns, budget uncertainties, legislative directives, and proposed limits to student loans. Our strength lies in mutual support and commitment to the value of architectural education for students, the discipline, and communities around the world.

Thanks to your support, ÌÇÐÄvlog can continue to advocate for a world where architectural education plays a vital role in supporting a thoughtfully designed, built environment.

In 2026, we look forward to continuing to create platforms for vital discussions, the exchange of ideas, and scholarly and professional development opportunities.

• The 114th Annual Meeting in Chicago will explore the challenges facing architectural education and practice using design as a lens for embracing plurality, disruption, and innovation.
• The International Conference in Brisbane, Australia, will examine how architecture and urbanism can address environmental, technological, and political challenges through reflective, generative, and speculative design and research.
• On January 13, ÌÇÐÄvlog will convene an online meeting to discuss a coordinated response to proposed policy changes related to the federal One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) and its impacts on student access.

As an organization, we remain committed to advancing our values of Equity, Social Justice, and Climate Action; Teaching and Learning; and Research, Scholarship, and Creative Practice. In December, we updated our community on the status of the Journal of Architectural Education and our work to create rigorous scholarly discourse that informs these organizational values.

We will continue to realize the commitments outlined in our 2025-2028 Strategic Plan, which includes building a strong community across a diverse field of architectural education. With a new conduct policy, we aim to create welcoming and safe spaces at ÌÇÐÄvlog events that foster advocacy and professional dialogue.

Thank you again for your dedication, willingness to collaborate, and continued partnership. It’s with your support that we are able to continue to advocate for a strong architectural education field. As we approach the new year, we look forward to working with you to continue valuable conversations and create connections that will uplift our community.
