Drury University

Drury University’s Hammons School of Architecture invites applications and nominations for two visiting faculty positions. These positions are designed for promising early-career candidates looking to advance their teaching and scholarship amongst a dedicated faculty of mentors. The successful candidates will receive the same consideration for development funds as tenure-stream faculty.

1) Architectural Design/Representation

A full-time, one-year position beginning August 2026 (with possible reappointment) seeking talented scholars who focus on technological innovation in design. In particular, those who investigate representation, modeling, making, process, and/or analytics, including – but not limited to – advanced representation/simulation, artificial intelligence, materiality and emerging technologies. Candidates must hold a graduate degree in architecture and have an articulated line of inquiry with the potential to advance disciplinary knowledge. The successful individual will teach design studios and core/seminar courses and develop research in their area(s) of expertise.

2) Architectural History/Theory

A full-time, one semester appointment for spring (January-May) 2027 seeking talented scholars with pedagogy, discourse, and scholarship in architectural history and theory. In particular, those who investigate formal, theoretical, material, pragmatic and conceptual aspects of architecture, cities, and art, examined in relation to global cultural contexts, from 1500 to present. A PhD in architectural history is preferred (those who are ABD are also encouraged to apply). The successful candidate will teach history lecture courses and develop research in their area(s) of expertise.
