Tenure Track, Assistant Professor of Architecture and Artificial Intelligence

Position Description

The Department of Architecture in the School of Architecture, College of Communication, Architecture + The Arts at Florida International University, invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure- earning Assistant Professor of Architecture and Artificial Intelligence with a focus on artificial intelligence, to begin in August 2026. The Department seeks a dynamic, innovative, educator and scholar to contribute to our Master of Architecture and Doctor of Design programs. The ideal candidate will excel in teaching design studios, seminars, and lectures at graduate and undergraduate levels; pursue research funding; engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with FIU’s research community; and advance the field through peer-reviewed publications and creative work.

Qualifications

Successful applicants are required to hold a professional degree in architecture or a closely related field and/or a PhD/doctoral degree or terminal degree in the field. Applicants should preferably have a record of previous graduate teaching and a track record of research.

College criteria for tenure and promotion include the demonstration of highly competent performance in scholarship, research or creative work, with a focus on the merit of the research, including the extent and significance of the inquiry, analysis, and synthesis. Consideration is given to recognition of the research, such as peer-reviewed publications and presentations, citations and quotations, and, where customary, contracts and grants funded to conduct research.

Within the College of Communication, Architecture + The Arts, the Department of Architecture resides in the School of Architecture, alongside the Department of Interior Architecture and the Department of Landscape Architecture + Environmental and Urban Design.
