Assistant or Associate Professor of Real Estate – Development and Finance Focus

Overview The Master of Real Estate Development + Urbanism (MRED+U) program at the University of Miami School of Architecture (U-SoA) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position starting August 1, 2026. Based at the Coral Gables campus, the successful candidate will focus on real estate finance and financial analysis for development and investment.

The Role The MRED+U program is a highly interdisciplinary, 36-credit graduate program blending finance, design, planning, and public policy. Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching core and elective courses in a professional graduate setting.
  • Conducting high-quality research and maintaining a publication record.
  • Advising students and engaging with industry partners.
  • Supporting the program’s visibility within the Miami “living laboratory.”

Qualifications

  • Education: Ph.D. (or near completion) in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Rank-Specific Requirements:
    • Assistant: Potential for excellence in teaching and high-quality research.
    • Associate: Established research record and demonstrated teaching excellence at the graduate level.
    • Tenure upon appointment requires prior tenure and a national reputation.
  • Expertise: Evidence of scholarship or professional accomplishment in real estate finance, development, or urban economics.

About the Program The MRED+U program is the largest graduate program at U-SoA, benefiting from a dedicated administrative team and a robust Advisory Board of industry leaders. The program maintains strong ties with UM’s schools of Business, Law, and Engineering, and co-hosts the annual Real Estate Impact Conference.
