Assistant or Associate Professor of Real Estate 鈥� Development and Finance Focus

Overview聽The Master of Real Estate Development + Urbanism (MRED+U) program at the聽University of Miami School of Architecture (U-SoA)聽invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track聽Assistant or Associate Professor聽position starting August 1, 2026. Based at the Coral Gables campus, the successful candidate will focus on聽real estate finance and financial analysis聽for development and investment.

The Role聽The MRED+U program is a highly interdisciplinary, 36-credit graduate program blending finance, design, planning, and public policy. Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching core and elective courses in a professional graduate setting.
  • Conducting high-quality research and maintaining a publication record.
  • Advising students and engaging with industry partners.
  • Supporting the program鈥檚 visibility within the Miami “living laboratory.”

Qualifications

  • Education:聽Ph.D. (or near completion) in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Rank-Specific Requirements:
    • Assistant:聽Potential for excellence in teaching and high-quality research.
    • Associate:聽Established research record and demonstrated teaching excellence at the graduate level.
    • Tenure upon appointment聽requires prior tenure and a national reputation.
  • Expertise:聽Evidence of scholarship or professional accomplishment in real estate finance, development, or urban economics.

About the Program聽The MRED+U program is the largest graduate program at U-SoA, benefiting from a dedicated administrative team and a robust Advisory Board of industry leaders. The program maintains strong ties with UM鈥檚 schools of Business, Law, and Engineering, and co-hosts the annual Real Estate Impact Conference.
